🎯 I’m Taking Control of My Future—Sickle Cell Can’t Stop Me
Hi, my name is Ryan Jefferson, and I’m a student at Booker T. Washington High School. In my free time, I love to go bowling and draw—both help me relax and take my mind off the daily stress that comes with living with Sickle Cell Disease and preparing for college.
Living with Sickle Cell has been one of the hardest parts of my life, but it’s also shaped who I am. It’s made me stronger, more compassionate, and more determined to help others. That’s why I plan to become a radiologist—so I can be part of the healing process for others facing health challenges like mine.
But my goals go beyond just a career. One day, I want to build safe spaces in my community where people with Sickle Cell can feel supported, seen, and empowered.
💥 Why This Scholarship Matters
Being awarded the Warrior On The Rise Scholarship is more than a financial boost—it’s a turning point. It’s a moment where I can say, I’m taking control of my life. No sickness is going to hold me back.
This scholarship reminds me that I am capable of greatness, no matter the obstacles in my way. It motivates me to keep going, to stay focused, and to be a role model for others who might be struggling with their own journeys.
🔥 Help Light the Way for the Next Warrior
I’m one of 27 students who received the Warrior On The Rise Scholarship this year, thanks to people like you who believe in our potential. That’s nearly triple the number of scholarships awarded in past years—and with your help, we can do even more.
Your donation helps support students like me who are living with Sickle Cell Disease but refusing to let it define our futures. When you give, you’re not just funding an education—you’re investing in resilience, healing, and hope.
Thank you for this opportunity—and for helping the next warrior rise.
