🎭 I’m Living with Sickle Cell—and Refusing to Let It Define Me
Hi, my name is Sydney Sinclair, and I’m a rising sophomore at Towson University, majoring in Theater Arts. I’m passionate about stories—whether they’re told through plays, movies, music, or even my growing vintage CD collection. I love video games, hanging out with my family, and spending time with my dog (who I proudly consider my son). I’m also the proud older sister to a wonderful little sister.
But behind the scenes of my life, there’s another part of my story: I live with Sickle Cell Disease. It’s something I carry with me every day. It lingers in the background, always there—but I’ve made the decision that it will never define me.
💪 Why This Scholarship Matters
Being awarded the Warrior On The Rise Scholarship means everything to me. It’s not just about the financial support (though that’s a big help)—it’s about what it represents. It’s a reminder to me, and to others living with Sickle Cell, that we are not limited by what we were born with.
This scholarship shows that just because something tries to hold you back doesn’t mean you have to let it. I’m determined to keep moving forward, to chase my dreams on stage and off, and to live life as fully and freely as possible.
🌟 Help Support More Warriors Like Me
I was honored to be selected as one of 27 Warrior On The Rise Scholarship recipients this year—a huge jump from the 10 recipients we were able to support in the past. That’s only possible because of people like you who choose to believe in us.
When you donate to the Warrior On The Rise Scholarship Fund, you’re helping students with Sickle Cell Disease step into their power, pursue their education, and write their own stories.
Thank you for supporting me—and for helping the next warrior rise.
