Give a Bark is back! 🐾🎨

Get ready to run, walk, wag, and get absolutely covered in color.

On Saturday, January 9, 2027, Palm Valley Animal Society is bringing the Give a Bark Color Run 5K back to Firemen’s Park in McAllen for another morning of color, community, and lifesaving impact.

Give a Bark has become more than a 5K. It is an annual tradition built by the people who continue to show up for pets across the Rio Grande Valley. Every runner, walker, volunteer, donor, and sponsor helps turn one colorful morning into support that lasts throughout the year.

Run for something bigger. 💙

Every day, pets arrive at Palm Valley Animal Society needing care, shelter, medical attention, and a chance to find their way home or into a new one.

Events like Give a Bark help fuel that work.

Your registration supports the programs and services that help PVAS provide lifesaving care for thousands of pets each year, from medical treatment and adoption to foster, rescue, community outreach, and more.

Whether you are chasing a personal record or planning to stroll the course with your favorite people, every step helps move our mission forward.

What to expect 🎨

This is not your ordinary Saturday morning 5K.

Expect color, music, community, plenty of photo opportunities, and a whole pack of people running for pets. Come ready to get messy, have fun, and cross the finish line knowing your participation helped make a difference.

Runners and walkers of all experience levels are welcome.

You help fuel Give a Bark.

This event happens because our community makes it happen.

Maybe you ran with us before. Maybe you volunteered. Maybe your company sponsored a shirt, helped cover event expenses, or cheered from the sidelines. However you joined the pack, you helped Give a Bark grow into a tradition we are proud to bring back.

And in 2027, we want to make it even bigger.

Want your business in the pack? 👕🏅

We are also welcoming Give a Bark 2027 sponsors and community partners.

Sponsorship opportunities include ways to put your organization in front of runners and supporters, including visibility on event shirts, medals, and other event materials.
