This cookbook is more than a collection of recipes. It is a celebration of the creativity, curiosity, and collaboration that define Gardner Street School’s Arts Integration Magnet program. Each dish featured (12 total recipes) was explored, tested, and perfected by our students this school year, many using ingredients grown in Gardner’s own edible garden or inspired by the rich and diverse food cultures within our community.

Bringing this project to life was a true collaboration effort, with our Garden and Cooking program nurturing students’ hands-on learning and our Art Studio capturing that spirit through the beautiful watercolor illustrations created by our second graders. Along the way, students explored science, math, literacy, nutrition, and social-emotional skills, transforming simple recipes into meaningful expressions of learning.

This first-ever Gardner Street School cookbook stands as a reflection of what makes our school so special. It is truly a place where creativity and academics come together and invites you to be part of a community that continues to grow, create, and inspire!
