Fund the Generational Impact Project Inaugural Cohort

This September, the Generational Impact Project will launch its inaugural nine-month cohort for adults across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

The project is guided by one central belief:

To build Generational Wealth, we have to begin with Generational Healing.

Participants will build financial knowledge, understand the experiences shaping their money decisions, develop practical wealth plans, explore investing and asset protection, and prepare estate and legacy action steps.

Your contribution helps make this experience accessible for participants and provides essential funding for the educators, facilitators, tools, and infrastructure needed to deliver it with care.

Every donation helps make participation possible for someone working toward lasting milestones such as building savings, reducing debt, and establishing a legacy for future generations.

Why This Work Matters

Brookings reports that in 2022, Black households held $15 in wealth for every $100 held by white households. Stock equity accounted for nearly 30 percent of white household wealth and 4 percent of Black household wealth.

Access to information alone does not close that gap.

History, income, financial stress, institutional trust, family experiences, and access to guidance all shape how people approach money and long-term planning.

The Generational Impact Project creates space for participants to recognize those influences while developing practical tools they can use in their lives, families, careers, businesses, and communities.

Building on the inaugural cohort, we plan to expand future cohorts and extend the program's reach to more communities across the region and beyond. Your support impacts participants today and helps lay the foundation for lasting generational change in the years ahead.

What Your Support Makes Possible

The inaugural cohort will engage participants through:

Financial Intelligence Lab
Community Reflection Sessions
Money, Media, & History
Legacy Planning Tools

Participants will work toward practical outcomes, including:

A personal financial snapshot
A savings and debt plan
A better understanding of their money story
A community accountability plan
Estate and legacy action steps
Strategies for investing and protecting assets

Community sessions provide facilitated reflection and group discussion. They do not replace licensed mental health care.

Support Participant Access

The full cost of participation is $3,000 per person, paid across eight active months.

Some participants will need partial or full financial support to take part in the inaugural cohort. Contributions help expand access while protecting the dignity and privacy of every applicant and participant.

Suggested Contribution Levels

$375 helps underwrite one active month of participant access
$750 helps underwrite one-quarter of the full participation cost
$1,500 helps underwrite half of the full participation cost
$3,000 helps underwrite the equivalent of one full participant tuition
Custom contribution supports shared access and program needs.

Participant sponsorships support access for the inaugural cohort and are applied where the need is greatest. Contributions are not designated to a specific individual.

Donors will not receive access to private applications, personal financial information, demographic information, participant stories, or selection decisions.

All donors will receive periodic program updates and impact summaries to stay informed about the cohort's progress and the difference their support makes. These updates will honor participant privacy while offering clarity about the program's reach and outcomes.

Each donation strengthens the environment participants need to learn, plan, act, and build alongside a committed community.

About the Generational Impact Project

The Generational Impact Project is a community-centered initiative advancing Generational Wealth and Generational Healing through financial education, historical understanding, community reflection, and practical action that helps people build lasting legacy.

The project was founded by Michael Anthony, a filmmaker, educator, creative strategist, and community program developer with more than 20 years of experience bridging storytelling, education, and community impact.

GIP operates in partnership with WEBS Training Center, a Virginia-based 501(c)(3) public charity. WEBS Training Center receives and administers contributions, provides fiscal oversight, and supports program compliance and reporting.

Contributions are received and administered through WEBS Training Center, GIP's 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor. Donors should consult their tax adviser regarding the treatment of individual contributions.
