When Megan Tomlinson's mother, Leslie "Hope" Houston, died in October 2024 and the case wasn't immediately treated as a homicide, Megan spent seven months researching, organizing records, and analyzing evidence, efforts that ultimately contributed to the case being reopened and her Leslie's husband being charged with murder. Prosecutors credited her with providing essential evidence that helped bring criminal charges.

On what would have been her mother's 47th birthday, Megan publicly launched Silver Lining of Hope, Inc., a nonprofit created in her mother's memory. Through its H-O-P-E Initiative, she now provides case analysis and advocacy so that no family has to navigate the search for answers alone.

Hope's murder was devastating and should never have happened—but her name lives on, bringing hope to victims of domestic violence, the missing, the murdered, and the unidentified.
