Steph Johnson learned, while bringing water to people living on the street near her home, that many had sung in a choir or had a similar musical experience. Music had transformed her life. After co-founding Voices of Our City Choir, Steph has now changed the lives of many unsheltered people in San Diego, through music, case management, and advocacy.

Many impactful homelessness nonprofits start with a similar story. Each month we tell one of their stories and through each organization's story, you will understand a different aspect of homelessness prevention, intervention and policy change.
