About The Next Door
The Next Door began serving young people in 1971 when concerned citizens in Hood River worked to open a group home for "troubled" teens. We soon realized that the problems they struggled with could often be prevented. In response, TNDI began developing prevention initiatives and soon became the largest non-profit social service provider in the mid-Columbia Gorge region. Today, The Next Door has 35+ programs that serve over 10,000 people in a seven-county region throughout the Gorge.
