Give the Gift of Literacy

We’re doing more than just giving away books—we're building a community where every child has access to stories, support, and the tools to thrive. Help us reach our $12,000 goal to bring books, joy, and literacy materials to over 1,000 kids in Seattle this year!

✨ Here's what your donation supports:

New books for kids at Seattle meal sites through our exciting new partnership with the City of Seattle Summer Food Service Program
Literacy Night events like the one we hosted at Sanislo Elementary, where every child left with a book they chose and loved
Stocking free little libraries in high-need neighborhoods with high-interest, diverse titles (thanks to donors like the Miller family!)
Summer reading materials like our free printable reading packets, bookmarks, and book wish lists to keep kids engaged and excited

When you give to Community Book Project, you’re putting stories directly into the hands of kids who need them most—and we need your help to keep up with demand. Our goal is to allow each child to choose multiple books, along with a special reading tote and fun, confidence-boosting materials they wouldn’t otherwise have.

💛 Your gift makes a difference:

$15 = 1 brand-new book + fun book swag
$45 = A book bundle for 3 kids
$100 = Books + reading supplies for a school site visit
Custom amount = You choose your impact!

📦 Want to give monthly? Join our growing family of supporters who believe in equity, early literacy, and the power of book ownership. Every monthly gift helps us plan ahead and serve more kids year-round.

Thank you for supporting joyful, inclusive literacy.
Together, we’re getting books into hands, homes, and hearts.

Testimonials

"Receiving books from the Community Book Project has been a blessing. My kids are excited to read every night!"
— Maria, Parent

"Coming across Community Book Project has been such a blessing. I know how important it is to read to my babies, but I struggle as a single mom and buying new books for them isn't an option right now. Receiving new books from CBP has been such a relief and it gives us quality time together. My mama heart is so happy to snuggle up and read our books together. Karly is learning new words, too!"
— Anna, Parent

"Our students have benefited tremendously from Community Book Project's programming. Rebecca is so passionate about getting kids excited to read. Her book choices are phenomenal; so thoughtful and appealing to all our students. She has a knack for choosing books they are eager to read."
— Becky, Librarian / Teacher
