For over 20 years, Las Casas has been welcoming, supporting and empowering one of the most vulnerable populations in our community: our immigrant newcomers. Las Casas provides a safe space where our students create community, connect to needed resources and gain valuable English language skills.

Las Casas has over 300 enrolled students annually - with classes offered in the Fruitvale neighborhood of Oakland. Our classes are low-cost and geared to lower level learners. Each of our classes are taught by a dedicated team of volunteer teachers who prepare and lead dynamic lessons 3 nights a week.

We only charge our students a small fraction of our overall costs - all funds we raise directly go to cover our program and administrative costs. Please support Las Casas so we can continue to provide a safe, secure environment for our students - giving them the support and confidence they need to become engaged in their communities and build a better life for themselves and their families.
