St. Bonaventure Academy is a faith-based nonprofit educational institution founded in September 2023 and located in Northeast Cleveland. St. Bonaventure Academy empowers children, families, and the Cleveland community in one of the city's most economically challenged areas to break the cycle of socioeconomic hardship, fostering diligence, humility, love, and respect in service to the broader community.

The Problem:

Cleveland ranks as the third lowest in education among the largest U.S. cities. Students in underserved communities face significant challenges, including low proficiency in core subjects and lack of access to comprehensive educational resources that address both academic and socio-emotional needs.

Academy Solutions:

The academy will show a 75% increase in reading and math proficiency by year three of operations due to implementing Individualized professional development, blended learning, high quality intervention, proven curriculum and investing in quality.

The academy will nurture emotionally intelligent, socially confident, financially independent individuals who form healthy relationships with our innovative approach to mental health and physical wellness. (elective programming, social skills, counseling, innovative therapies)

The academy will cultivate cultural and environmental stewardship through the implementation of our international studies, school boarding and environmental conscientious programming.

The academy will foster compassionate individuals who are diligent, have a sense of service to the community and are invested in SBA’s continued vision and sustainability.
