FUL is excited to launch a pilot travel experience that will expose our young people to the vastness of the world they live in.

On Thursday, March 26, 2026, we’re raising funds to support two of our Fellows as they embark on a 10-day educational journey abroad from July 16–26, 2026. This is more than a trip. It’s a hands-on experience that teaches empathy, leadership, global awareness, and courage.

Who Is This Experience For

Two young women. Two bright futures. Two passions that already reach beyond borders:

One Fellow is deeply interested in foreign policy, the “why” behind decisions that reshape lives and nations.
One Fellow is drawn to psychology, the “how” of healing, identity, trauma, and resilience.

They are ready to learn at a level that promotes their growth into global citizenship.

What Makes This Experience Unique

Before they even leave the U.S., our Fellows will travel alongside students from rural Ohio, learning with and from peers whose daily lives may look very different from theirs, preparing them for their overseas journey. This portion of the experience is intentional: leadership starts with listening, understanding, and sharing world views, bringing their own lived experiences into that shared learning space, building relationships that expand perspectives on both sides.

What Our Fellows Will Learn Abroad

In Glasgow, our Fellows will stay in student dorms and immerse themselves in a learning environment centered on real people and real stories, especially the lived perspectives of individuals who have fled their home countries due to:

war and conflict,
religious persecution,
threats connected to identity (including sexual identity),
and other life-threatening circumstances.

They will engage in dialogue, reflection, and community-based learning that explores what it means to rebuild lives after displacement, hearing directly from people whose journeys include places such as Laos, Palestine, and Ukraine.
