Our founder, Yanique Renwick was given a diagnosis that resulted in Brain surgery. After post-surgery, she was left with a physical different ability that forced her to leave the dream of dancing behind. Programs like Diagnosed Dreamers did not exist, where she could feed her creativity without judgment and this led her into a depression at the tender age of 10 years old. Years later, she found a new passion for writing and poetry. This allowed her to express herself without feeling like an outcast. This passion grew over time and afforded her opportunities like impacting lives with spoken word poetry and publishing two books within two years. Poetry changed the scope of our founder's life. Yanique Renwick wants to provide this opportunity for teens who are growing up like she had to. Art has given her the confidence to pursue endeavors that most would only dream of doing. We believe art can do the same for so many others!
