The Georgia Medical Cannabis Society, also known as GMCS, is a patient-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Georgians access reliable education, trusted resources, compassionate support, and meaningful opportunities to participate in decisions that affect their lives.

We serve patients, caregivers, veterans, military families, seniors, people with disabilities, healthcare providers, EMS professionals, returning citizens, families, community organizations, and underserved communities throughout Georgia.

GMCS was created because patients and caregivers should not have to navigate complicated systems, changing policies, stigma, and limited information alone. Our work is guided by one central principle:

Why This Work Matters

Many Georgia patients and caregivers are expected to navigate the medical cannabis system without enough clear, reliable, and accessible information. People may not know where to begin, what questions to ask, which resources are trustworthy, or how changing laws and policies may affect them.

Patients may also experience financial hardship, transportation barriers, limited provider access, disability-related challenges, stigma, employment concerns, housing concerns, privacy issues, and confusion about their rights and responsibilities.

These barriers can be especially difficult for veterans, seniors, rural residents, low-income families, returning citizens, people with disabilities, and historically underserved communities.

GMCS helps close these gaps by creating patient-centered educational resources, hosting community programs, connecting people with trusted information, and helping patients and caregivers make their voices heard.
