Burro Base Camp is proud to host a two-day Donkey Hoof-Care Clinic taught by Ross Keller of Keller Equine Services, designed for hoof-care professionals, donkey owners, and donkey enthusiasts, looking to improve their understanding of hoof care and technical skills in handling donkeys.

Clinic Overview

This comprehensive clinic blends theory, demonstration, and hands-on practice, equipping participants with practical tools they can immediately apply in the field.

Topics Covered Include:

Behavior, handling, desensitizing, and gentling
Characterizing hoof growth and distortion
Hoof mapping and trimming protocols
Trimming grossly overgrown feet
Glue shoe modification and application
Managing laminitic cases

Day 1: Lectures and live demonstrations
Day 2: Hands-on trimming and application

Professional Farriers - this course will offer 16 IAPF Continuing Education credits.

Ross Keller (Keller Equine Services) brings extensive experience working with complex hoof cases, rescue equines, and animals requiring thoughtful, adaptive handling. His teaching style emphasizes practicality, biomechanics, and the relationship between behavior and sound hoof care.
