About Close the Gap

Help us support first-generation low-income (FGLI) high school students!

Close the Gap Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit based in San Francisco. We believe every student deserves the opportunity to succeed in life and reach their fullest potential regardless of their economic upbringing.

Through our social impact fellowship every summer, we provide students opportunities to lead social impact project of their choosing through matching them with young professional mentors who have lived/shared experiences. We also aim to support the summer projects through structured curriculum mentoring sessions on topics including, but not limited to, resilience and resume building.

We appreciate any and all support as we close the opportunity gap. To show our appreciation, every donation will be followed up with an electronic note of appreciation from our volunteers and fellows.

Ship a refurbished laptop to a fellow - $30

Perform required background checks for mentors - $30

Provide a mental health session for a fellow - $20

Provide a snack for a fellow during launch day or pitch day - $15

We're 100% volunteer-run, meaning your donation goes further in supporting our students. All donations are tax-deductible and our GuideStar profile and IRS status information are also available online.

2022 Social Impact Fellowship

Last summer, 30 fellows spent four months to grow their skills and confidence through project-based learning and community service. The result? Their impact touched thousands of lives in their local community.
