Joy Is The Missing Metric

Burnout has reached crisis levels, with 77% of employees reporting they’ve experienced it in their current role (Deloitte, 2023) and over half of U.S. workers saying they feel burned out on a regular basis (Gallup, 2023). Yet research shows that intentional joy practices even as brief as five to ten minutes a day can significantly reduce stress, improve sleep, boost emotional well-being, and strengthen social connection (Big Joy Project, UCSF, 2024).

We’re the New Kids on the Block and We’re Bringing Joy With Us

We’re The Joy Lab Inc., and we’re hoping for a warm welcome from communities all all over the world as we prepare to launch officially in Mid-November.

But before we cut the ribbon, we’re inviting you to help us open the conversation about authentic joy and why the world needs more of it right now.

On August 28th, we’re hosting our very first JOY-A-THON. We’re challenging people everywhere to capture joy a short video, a picture, or a moment that makes your soul light up and send it to us using the link provided. The best submission will win exclusive JOY LAB INC. merch and, more importantly, help us kick off a movement.

Even if you don’t send a video, you can still be part of this launch by helping us raise $25,000 for Black Philanthropy Month. Every dollar fuels leadership programs, community events, and scholarships for leaders from all walks of life.

Burnout is at an all-time high. Busyness is glorified. Too many leaders emerging and established are running on empty. Communities are fractured, trust is low, and stress is sky-high.

We believe the antidote is joy. Not surface-level smiles, but deep, strategic joy that fuels resilience, strengthens connection, and inspires visionary leadership. Without it, leaders burn out, organizations lose heart, and communities weaken.
