For decades, the Grand Rapids Pride Center has been a place our community can turn to for connection, resources, safety, affirmation, and belonging. Today, we are asking our community to show up for us.

Right now, GRPC has approximately two months of operating funds remaining. If we cannot close that gap, we are facing the very real possibility that when we close for Thanksgiving, we will not reopen.

The impact of that loss would reach far beyond our building.

It would mean six staff members losing their jobs. It would mean losing life-giving support programs serving 2-SLGBTQ+ people across generations, from children and young people to adults and elders. It would mean losing mental health support, food and basic needs, health equity resources, and a physical space where some of our most vulnerable and under-resourced community members can come in, get warm, charge a phone, access the internet, grab something to eat, or simply exist somewhere safe.

It would mean losing the home of the Grand Rapids Pride Festival.

And because our close partners at the Grand Rapids Trans Foundation are housed within the Pride Center, the loss of our building would also mean the loss of their physical home.

We are pursuing every funding opportunity available to us, including grants, foundations, corporate support, and community partnerships. But those funding processes take time.

We do not have months. So we need our community.

Whether you have been connected to the Pride Center for years or have never walked through our doors, if you believe West Michigan needs a place where 2-SLGBTQ+ people can find safety, resources, community, and belonging, we are asking you to show up.

Make a one-time gift. Become a monthly donor. Check whether your employer will match your donation. Sponsor one of our programs or upcoming fundraisers. Connect us with a foundation, business, or funding opportunity. And if you cannot give financially, share this campaign and help us reach someone who can.

Every gift matters. Every connection matters. Every share matters.

We have spent years telling our community: Come inside. You are safe here.

Today, we are asking you to help us make sure we can keep saying it.

Help us keep these doors open.
