About RRR Sanctuary

Perfectly Imperfect. Perfectly Loved.

RRR Sanctuary is a place where second chances begin and healing happens— for animals and people alike.

Located in a peaceful rural setting, RRR Sanctuary provides a safe, loving home for animals who have experienced abuse, neglect, abandonment, injury, disability, or the challenges that come with growing old. Many of the animals who arrive at the ranch have nowhere else to go. Here, they are given something every living being deserves: safety, dignity, compassion, and love.

Working alongside the Agriculture Department, multiple Sheriff’s Departments, and contacts within the Fairmount Park horse racing community, RRR Sanctuary helps rescue horses facing abuse, neglect, abandonment, injury, or uncertain futures. Each horse receives individualized medical care, rehabilitation, proper nutrition, enrichment, and the time needed to heal.

But horses are only part of our family. The sanctuary is also home to senior and hospice dogs, dogs with disabilities, barn cats, pigs, goats, sheep, donkeys, cows, and other rescued farm animals. Many become ambassadors for compassion and education, helping people better understand the value of kindness, responsible animal care, and giving animals a second chance.

A Home for Senior & Special-Needs Dogs

At the heart of the sanctuary is a home created especially for elderly, hospice, and disabled dogs.

Rather than spending their final months or years in a traditional shelter environment, these dogs experience the comfort of a real home. They have soft places to sleep, individualized care, companionship, and people nearby to care for them around the clock, seven days a week.

Whether they have days, months, or years remaining, our goal is simple: make every day matter.

A Place for Horses to Simply Be Horses

Our senior, hospice, injured, and rescued horses are also given the opportunity to live their lives with dignity.

Experienced caregivers provide individualized attention, medical care, nutritious food, exercise, and enrichment. Spacious barns, comfortable stalls, pastures, walking areas, and exercise spaces allow our horses to enjoy something many of them may never have experienced before—peace.

For horses who can be rehabilitated and adopted, we work toward finding the right future. For those who need sanctuary for life, RRR becomes their forever home.

Where Animals and People Heal Together

RRR Sanctuary is more than an animal rescue. We believe animals who have experienced hardship have an extraordinary ability to connect with people who may also feel different, overlooked, or misunderstood.

Through educational experiences and programs serving children and adults, including members of the special needs community, the sanctuary creates meaningful opportunities for human-animal connection.

Here, an elderly dog can still have purpose.
A disabled animal can still inspire.
A once-abused horse can learn to trust again.
And a person can discover that being different does not mean being less.

At RRR Sanctuary, we don't ask anyone—human or animal—to be perfect.

We simply give them a place to be loved.
