Help Preserve a Piece of Greenhills History

Since 1938, Greenhills has been built on the idea of community. Our memorial benches are more than places to sit—they preserve the memory of veterans, longtime residents, community leaders, neighbors, and loved ones who helped make Greenhills special.

Today, 142 memorial benches can be found throughout Greenhills parks and public spaces. Many have weathered years of exposure and now need repainting, replacement boards, hardware repairs, or stabilization.

The Greenhills Historical Society has launched the Greenhills Memorial Bench Restoration Fund, a restricted fund dedicated solely to restoring and preserving these memorial benches.

Donations to the fund will be used exclusively to restore and preserve Greenhills' memorial benches for future generations.

Your donation will help provide:

Paint and restoration materials
Replacement boards and hardware
Bench repairs and stabilization
Long-term maintenance of memorial benches

This October, volunteers and historians will begin restoring benches while also researching and documenting the stories behind the people they commemorate. This first work effort will focus on about 30 benches. Every restored bench helps preserve both a memorial and a piece of Greenhills history.

Whether you give $25, $100, or sponsor an entire bench, your gift will help ensure these memorials continue to serve residents and honor those they were created to remember.

Thank you for helping preserve Greenhills—one bench and one story at a time.
