Grounded Conversations
Where Real Talk Meets the Soul

Every community carries stories that never make it past the kitchen table. Grounded Conversations brings those stories into the room and puts a spotlight on them.

Hosted by Ibrahim Souadda and Sahir Muhammad Jr., Grounded Conversations is a live, podcast-style gathering held monthly at Grounded in West Philadelphia. Each session brings a guest into conversation with the hosts and the community. Business owners who built something from nothing. Organizers who started nonprofits. Teachers and scholars whose human stories rarely get told. Neighbors whose lived experience deserves an audience.

We talk about the issues facing our community, the history that shaped it, the wins worth celebrating, and the people behind the work.

After the interview, the floor opens. Audience members ask questions, push on what was said, and engage critically with the ideas in the room. The conversation belongs to everyone present.

Every session is recorded and released as a podcast, and the conversations feed a companion Substack where we carry the ideas further on the page. Our stories travel past the walls of the center in the voice of the people who lived them.

Episode Zero: Setting the Table

Our first session is the opening. Meet the hosts, get a feel for the room, and tell us who you want to hear from and what you want us to talk about. The direction of this program starts with you.
