This April, we’re raising $10,000 to expand our SNAP Match program—so more families can afford fresh, local food at our market.

Right now, the Melrose Farmers' Market matches SNAP benefits up to $10 per visit.
With your help, we can increase that to $15—and sustain it all season long.

Local need is growing:

In 2024: we distributed $17,500 in SNAP Match
In 2025: we distributed $19,000
Our 2026 goal: to distribute $27,000 while increasing our match by $5 per customer per week

More families are relying on this program—and together, we can meet that need.

An increased match means more food on the table for SNAP customers, plus more support for local farmers.

🥕 $30 = provides a SNAP Match for 2 customers
🥬 $50 = provides a SNAP Match for 3 customers
🍅 $100 = provides a SNAP Match for 6 individuals or families
🫑 $250 = supports multiple families in a single market visit
🧄 $500 = helps fund almost half of one day’s match

It takes $1,000–$1,500 to fund our SNAP Match for a single market day—helping 70 to 100 individuals and families bring home fresh food each week.

SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) helps individuals and families afford food. At the Melrose Farmers' Market, SNAP benefits can be used to buy fresh fruits, vegetables, bread, meat and more—directly from local farmers and small batch food producers.

What is the SNAP Match?

Our SNAP Match program doubles the value of SNAP spent at the market.

Currently, customers spend $10 and get $10 extra
With your support: customers spend $15 and get $15 extra
