Join us in our mission to nourish the community by rescuing and distributing food, preparing nightly meals, and collaborating to achieve food equity for all.

Your support will help us expand our Community Exchange into a newly leased space with double the cold storage, so we can rescue and distribute more food. We work alongside smaller, hyperlocal nonprofits, offering food tailored to their community’s needs, so they can focus on their core mission.

Our new warehouse space, located in Glassell Park, will expand food access across LA County by establishing a food recovery and distribution center and providing shared infrastructure for us to enhance our collaborations with food producers, other recovery groups, and nonprofits distributing food in their communities.

Who do we help, you may ask? We distribute food to a network of over 160 organizations serving a wide variety of communities across Los Angeles Here's how Covenant House California, for example, uses the food distributed by HoFoCo, ensuring the youth they serve are properly fed and redirecting the funds saved toward direct services:

ABOUT HOLLYWOOD FOOD COALITION

Hollywood Food Coalition is an organization dedicated to nourishing the community by rescuing and distributing food, preparing nightly meals, and uniting efforts to achieve food equity.

Since 1987 we have provided hunger relief to unhoused and low-income neighbors through hot, healthy meals served every single night of the year, without fail. Since then, we have grown into a thriving meal service and food rescue operation providing meals and other basic necessities to food-insecure Angelenos.

When we share food we not only help with basic needs, but we also remind our guests of their fundamental humanity. We remind them that they are not forgotten, that somebody cares, and that they are still worthwhile members of the human family.

At our core, we actively seek to construct a more cohesive, just, and compassionate community. We serve any hungry person who walks through our door, with no exclusionary intake or prohibitive requirements that would turn them away.
