Instructor Bio: Fayme is an educator, instructional designer, songwriter, and musician based in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Her career in education spans more than two decades, beginning as a high school English teacher and growing into leadership roles focused on curriculum, instruction, assessment, educator development, and professional learning. She has worked at the classroom, district, regional, and college levels, including serving as a Director of Instructional Services and currently working as a Learning Experience Designer at Western Technical College. Across those roles, her work has centered on helping educators design meaningful learning experiences, supporting teachers and programs, and making learning more accessible and relevant to real people.

Outside of education, Fayme is a longtime musician and songwriter and the frontwoman for Fayme Rochelle & The Waxwings, a La Crosse-area country/Americana band. Her music draws from classic country, honky-tonk, folk, and roots rock, with influences ranging from Loretta Lynn and Emmylou Harris to Lucinda Williams, Bob Dylan, and The Mavericks. The band performs a mix of original songs and familiar favorites, with a sound built around strong vocals, harmonies, and a love of old-school country music.

Fayme has always found a natural connection between teaching and music: both are about communication, connection, storytelling, and creating something that resonates with other people.
