About Beyond The Lecture

I’m Nathan Patnam, a Wofford College graduate and current software engineer at Uber. I founded Beyond The Lecture to support driven computer science students at Wofford. This scholarship honors my late father, who instilled in me the importance of education and hands-on experience. This scholarship provides mentorship and financial aid to help students succeed in their tech careers.

About The Scholarship

The scholarship is designed to both mentor and reward computer science students at Wofford. The application process mirrors real-world job interviews, with two rounds that include resume reviews, technical assessments, and behavioral questions. After each round, applicants will receive feedback on what they can improve on. My goal is to ensure that, even if a student doesn’t win, they walk away with valuable experience and guidance that will benefit their future career.

The recipients is usually awarded $3,500, with the potential to grow based on donations and the number of applicants. Any unused funds will roll over to next year's scholarship. Regular updates will be shared throughout the process.

How Your Donation Helps

Every contribution goes to financing the scholarship and other activities the organization plans to do. Donations are tax-deductible, and a receipt will be provided. For donations of $100 or more, we recommend using the "Donate with ACH" option for reduced fees.
