Hancock4Kids Child Abuse Prevention Council is hosting a FREE community education event for parents and older youth. Join us on Monday, February 17, 2026, at Hancock Wellness in New Palestine for a free dinner, a screening of the Screenagers film, a Netsmartz digital safety presentation, and a facilitated community discussion with an expert panel focused on the challenges of parenting in the digital age.

This event is intentionally designed for parents and youth to attend together, supporting shared learning and open family conversations around online safety, healthy boundaries, and responsible technology use.

The content of this event is designed for older youth and adolescents. A separate, developmentally appropriate screening for elementary-aged children is planned for June 2026.

The film and guided discussion reflect NCMEC Netsmartz principles and are designed to help parents and youth:

Understand how images and messages can be shared beyond their intended audience
Recognize the importance of consent, boundaries, and respectful online behavior
Identify online pressure, coercion, and sextortion
Learn safe responses if asked to send an image or if an inappropriate image is received
Know when and how to seek help, including reaching out to a trusted adult and using appropriate reporting tools

No explicit or graphic content is shown. All material is presented in an age-appropriate, prevention-focused manner that emphasizes empowerment, safety, and informed decision-making rather than fear or shame.

We recognize that not all youth are developmentally ready for these conversations. Our goal is to ensure families are fully informed before attending. The recommended age for this event is 11 and older, and parents and caregivers are encouraged to use their own judgment in determining what their child is ready to discuss and learn.
