UPDATE: We have raised a little over 11k, still working on the remaining $7900 for Loki. Any and all help is appreciated!!!

Tippy was my diabetes service dog for close to ten years and was instrumental in the management of my type-1 diabetes mellitus. Having type-1 diabetes for over 40 years, my ability to recognize when my blood glucose is rapidly dropping or quickly rising has diminished due to my body simply becoming acclimated to the changes. Tippy would come over when my blood glucose was outside of its target range and nudge me repeatedly to let me know something was wrong. Many instances of preventing highs and lows were attributed to his training and I would go so far as to say that he helped me live more safely with my diabetes.

Tippy passed in August 2019 and life has never been the same without him as my friend & as my service dog. Tippy touched my life and impacted many of my family and friends in a positive & wonderful way. While I will never truly be able to replace Tippy, I hope that you can help me raise the funds for a new diabetes service dog provided by Diabetic Alert Dogs of America located in Las Vegas, NV.

My newly matched service dog is named Loki. He is presently close to 8 months old and is still in training, doing superbly! He is a chocolate labrador and if training proceeds successfully, he will be flown out to me in Omaha and his trainer will make sure he acclimates to me appropriately at the beginning of 2025.
