Estee and Erin of Horn Fulton CPAs thought they were signing up for a little professional development in a tropical location. Somehow, things went very wrong.
Armed with calculators, spreadsheets, and an unreasonable amount of confidence, we ventured deep into the jungle. Unfortunately, it turns out that balancing books does not qualify you to navigate an island.
Now we're stranded.
The birds have taken over as office management, the monkeys refuse to provide receipts, and we're pretty sure none of our survival expenses are tax deductible. Our emergency snack supply is running dangerously low, and no amount of Excel modeling has produced a viable escape plan.
We need a rescue—and that's where you come in!
All joking aside, we're proud to participate in Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference because we have seen what happens when young people are given the opportunity to lead, serve, and make a difference in their community. Hands4Hope doesn't just teach kids about community service—it gives them the responsibility and confidence to identify needs, develop solutions, work together, and turn their ideas into action.
As business owners, parents, and members of this community, we believe those experiences are incredibly valuable. The leadership, confidence, compassion, and problem-solving skills these young people develop will stay with them long after their Hands4Hope projects are finished.
