The Philippines has the longest Christmas celebration around the world, starting as early as September and extending through the first few days of January. But for those living in extreme poverty, Christmas is just another day.

Another day of lack, forced to survive on "pagpag" -- discarded food scraps scavenged from the trash and re-cooked to create a semblance of a meal. Another day of work, even for children in each family, because not working means no food on the table at the end of the day.

This holiday season, Project PEARLS and Globe's Hapag Movement are determined to change this story for thousands of families in need. Our mission is to bring the warmth and joy of festive, shared meals that are not only safe and nutritious, but filled with dignity and love. With a donation of just $20 or PHP 1,000, you can make a world of difference by "adopting" a family in Project PEARLS' communities. Your gift will provide them with a grocery pack filled with wholesome food for their holiday celebration, while every child in the family will receive a special Christmas gift.

Our goal is to reach 3,000 families in different localities, including those who lost their homes in the recent fire in Tondo. This entire effort will culminate in a series of Christmas gatherings — a celebration of love, warmth, and togetherness surrounded by their community, and representatives from Project PEARLS and the Hapag Movement.
