A Thanksgiving meal can fill a plate. Your generosity can remind someone they are not alone.

This Thanksgiving season, join Operation Providing Hope in sharing a meal, offering encouragement, and caring for our neighbors through Harvest of Hope 2026. Together, we will serve cancer patients, first responders, hospital staff, and people experiencing homelessness in our community. Each meal is an opportunity to say something simple but powerful: You matter, and your community cares about you.

Our Thanksgiving outreach began in 2024, when OPH provided meals to families impacted by Hurricane Helene. In the midst of loss and uncertainty, volunteers came together to prepare food and offer comfort to people facing difficult circumstances. The photos shared here capture that spirit of service: people giving their time, working side by side, and putting care into every meal. This year, we are expanding that effort into our own backyard, inviting local families and businesses to help carry that hope forward.

For someone undergoing cancer treatment, a prepared meal can mean one less task during an exhausting week and a chance to enjoy time with loved ones. For first responders and hospital staff, it is an expression of gratitude for the care they give our community. For a neighbor experiencing homelessness, it can provide nourishment and a moment of connection. We want everyone we serve to feel welcomed, appreciated, and treated with dignity.

Your generosity helps bring this day to life. Donations support food, meal containers, serving supplies, and fuel for volunteers delivering meals. Behind every plate are helping hands: someone preparing food, someone packing a meal, and someone making sure it reaches another person. When you give, you become part of that effort. The more support we receive, the more neighbors we can reach.

Harvest of Hope 2026 will take place on November 21, 2026, from noon to 6 p.m. at The Crossing Church, 1130 N Main Street, Kernersville, NC 27284. It will be a day for our community to come together, give thanks, and put compassion into action.

Whether you contribute as an individual, family, or business, your gift helps ease someone’s burden and brings people together through a shared act of kindness.
