Haywood Grows Farm Fest is a free family event that will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Sorrells Street Park in downtown Canton, NC from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. Haywood Grows is a collaboration between the Canton Merchant Partnership and Mill Town Farmers Market.

The festival will include vendors, bouncy houses and the splash pad, the Cool Cucumber Tent (a sensory tent for those who’d like some quiet time with some tactile play), the TomatOlympics provided by Base Camp Kids, a tractor show, and Professor WhizPop with his fantastic balloon magic. The Farm Express Train will be running to the Petting Zoo.

Live music will be playing throughout the event featuring local talent Jon Shain and FJ Venture, followed by Angela Easterling and her band.

We’ll have food provided by local churches and the ice cream shop. Tomato sandwiches will, of course, be available.

Haywood Grows ‘Mater Mayhem will include Costume Contests for all ages, the Tomato Poetry Slam, a Spaghetti Eating Contest, the Gardeners’ Best Tomato Contest, and our signature event, the Tomato Pie Contest with the winner earning county-wide bragging rights! You won't want to miss it!

We are raising funds to offset the cost of bringing this exciting new festival to Canton and Haywood County. Our plan is to grow the festival in coming years to a full 2-day event. We appreciate the continued support of our community, thanks for contributing!
