The Bison Impact Group (BIG) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to creating transformative opportunities at the intersection of education, wellness, community, and social impact.

Each year, BIG hosts the HBCU Golf Tournament during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, raising critical funds and awareness to support Historically Black College and University (HBCU) students and survivors of intimate partner violence. Through strategic partnerships, advocacy, and community engagement, BIG works to address relational violence while investing in the next generation of leaders.

Our mission is rooted in creating access, fostering connection, and building pathways for personal and collective growth. We recognize that golf has historically been a space with limited representation, with Black golfers accounting for less than 3% of recreational golfers nationwide. BIG intentionally uses golf as a unique tool to introduce new audiences to the game while creating opportunities for healing, mentorship, networking, and community building.

Through innovative programming, BIG is expanding access and changing narratives both on and off the course. Our signature programs include:

Soulful Sundays: A weekly golf experience that cultivates community, connection, and belonging.
BIG Boot Camp: A beginner-friendly golf clinic designed to build confidence, skills, and access to the game.
Skip Day: An annual youth and caregiver golf outing held during Child Abuse Prevention and Sexual Assault Awareness Month that strengthens family bonds through shared experiences.
BIG LEAP: A leadership and career readiness program that empowers young people through mentorship, exposure, and educational opportunities.
HBCU Golf Tournament: Our premier annual fundraiser held during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, supporting HBCU students, survivor-centered initiatives, and community impact programs.

At BIG, golf is more than a game; it is a platform for empowerment, relationship building, wellness, and social change. Our commitment to increasing access and creating meaningful community impact has been recognized by the PGA Tour’s Make Golf Your Thing initiative for three years consecutively.
