Donations Support our Accessibility Efforts

Huntington Children's Museum (HCM) is dedicated to making STEAM learning opportunities accessible to all children. Through a variety of innovative programs, the museum ensures that families can engage with its open-ended exhibits and activities. HCM offers reduced and free admission, annual passes, family nights, sensory-friendly evenings, and field trips for at-risk youth.

Accessibility programming includes:

HCM’s "Museums for All" initiative allows families receiving WIC or SNAP benefits to visit the museum for a reduced admission of just $2 per person during operating hours, with approximately 25% of visitors benefiting from this program in 2025. To further expand access in 2026, HCM began offering foster families the Museums for All discounted rate.
The museum partners with Central City Elementary, located in one of the most economically challenged areas of Cabell County. This collaboration provides six free field trips for students in grades Pre-K through third grade.
HCM collaborates with four after-school programs serving at-risk youth to broaden its outreach and engage even more children in the community. Each after-school program receives six free field trips during the school year.
HCM provides 20 free annual passes for Birth-to-Three families to support their play therapy at the museum.
Healthy Families Mountain State Family Support Workers receive free passes, allowing them to offer parents enrolled in their program a space to develop strong connections with their children.
HCM provides the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia with three free family nights.
The museum hosts eight free family sensory nights annually, featuring reduced sound, low lighting, and limited capacity.
HCM provides all Central City Elementary students with six free family nights.
HCM offers 50 free daily admission tickets to the Ronald McDonald House of Huntington and the Branches Domestic Violence Shelter.
HCM offers free summer camp enrollment for students who receive WIC or SNAP benefits (accommodating up to 20% of campers).
Annual family memberships starting at just $125 make recurring visits affordable for families.

As a children’s nonprofit, our events are non-partisan and open to everyone.
