Temporary Foster Care Program

A foster care-based program, with guidelines and requirements for those utilizing the services. These expectations will be reviewed regularly by the Board of Directors, as will be individual cases as needed. Hoppy, Healthy & Safe is looking forward to partnering with local agencies that already have a pet program to assist with resources and educational information for pets they may not be as knowledgeable with.

Ultimately, Hoppy, Healthy & Safe will strive to provide visitations for adults/children with their pet(s) as long as this can be conducted in a manner that promotes safety for all individuals involved.

DCS Foster Care Education Program

Hoppy, Healthy & Safe will provide animal care resources and assistance to foster parents willing to allow a child to bring their exotic (non-dog/cat) pet along with them into foster care.

Educational Events/Programs

Have an event or group that loves animals? Want to learn more about how to take care of exotic pets? Reach out as we have a variety of options of educational programs! From “petting zoo” style to educational events with our animal ambassadors we can tailor make something that works for you!

Hoppy, Healthy & Safe Surrenders

Our newest program, Hoppy, Healthy & Safe has recently opened up to limited owner surrenders when a pet is in need of care that the owner cannot or will not provide. This involves a legal surrendering of the pet and is not a part of our Temporary foster care program.

Partnerships

Hoppy, Healthy &Safe partners with organizations such as Beacon of Hope Crisis Center to provide information, resources and foster care services for individuals in crisis. We also partner with many local animal shelters across the state to assist when they have exotic intakes. We partner with Noah’s Animal House, based in Nevada, to education their DV Shelter Grant Recipients on how to care for exotic pets when brought into the Shelter.
