Now, the story continues. Healing After The Truth will follow up with the people whose lives were forever changed — and the communities working to rewrite the ending.

About the Project

In 2022, The Truth About Reading sparked a nationwide conversation about the literacy crisis in America. None of it would have been possible without a groundswell of grassroots support — countless small donations from people who cared deeply about education and believed in the power of storytelling.

Healing After The Truth is the next chapter. This follow-up documentary will explore what’s happened since the cameras stopped rolling — stories of healing, progress, and the fight for a future where everyone can read.

We’re raising $25,000 to launch Phase One of production. This will allow us to:
