Help Young Musicians Reach Their Full Potential

Every young musician deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and discover what they can achieve through music. Through HEAL Center for the Arts’ scholarship program, named in honor of Bishop Jason Christopher Brewer (July 10, 1970 – July 13, 2026), students receive professional music instruction, mentorship, and a supportive environment through after-school programs that build their confidence, develop their musical talents, and discover their unique artistic voices.

The Jason Brewer Memorial Scholarship celebrates Bishop Brewer's life, musical gifts, commitment to mentorship, and spirit of service. An acclaimed trumpeter who performed alongside renowned jazz artists, Bishop Brewer exemplified the power of musical excellence and the importance of encouraging others to develop their gifts. Through this scholarship, HEAL seeks to carry his legacy forward by helping young musicians access the instruction, resources, and opportunities they need to reach their full potential.

Our goal is to raise $24,000 to provide full-year scholarships for students. Scholarship recipients will receive twice-weekly music instruction at HEAL’s Center, where they can strengthen their musicianship, learn from professional teaching artists, collaborate with fellow musicians, and prepare for performances. They will also have opportunities to perform at community events throughout St. Louis, gaining valuable stage experience, building confidence, and connecting with audiences through their music.

Your contribution helps keep Bishop Brewer’s legacy alive through the next generation of musicians. Together, we can honor a life dedicated to music and service by investing in the potential of our young musicians.

Donate today to help HEAL raise $24,000 for the Jason Brewer Memorial Scholarship and empower our young musicians to reach their full potential.
