The Herald’s Health Reporting Initiative keeps you informed about local health and wellness news in Snohomish County.

This journalism project grew out of a need the Herald heard from readers and leaders for more coverage of health equity, mental health, rural healthcare, social and family challenges, homelessness, and substance abuse – and how these issues are impacted by legislation, medical trends and advances, and the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our dedicated health reporter, in collaboration with other Herald reporters, seeks to cover these topics and more. Our award-winning journalism often sparks change and sets the agenda for public policy debate, but we need your help.

If you believe that local reporting must play a greater role in providing you with the health and wellness information you and your community need, please donate to the Herald’s Health Reporting Initiative via Local Media Foundation. Contributions to this fund will help pay for the news resources needed to cover this important beat.

The Daily Herald Health Reporting Initiative addresses Snohomish County’s most pressing health and wellness issues. Donations to Local Media Foundation for this project are tax-deductible to the extent of the law. No goods or services are provided in exchange for contributions. Please consult a tax advisor for details. The program is administered by Local Media Foundation, tax ID #36‐4427750, a Section 501(c)(3) charitable trust affiliated with Local Media Association.
