The holiday season can be especially isolating for our deaf/disabled incarcerated communities and their loved ones. Each December, HEARD sends funds to our currently and formerly incarcerated community in the spirit of radical love for and solidarity with our loved ones impacted by incarceration.

Incarcerated people are exploited and they are paid very little for their labor funds, if they are paid at all. For example, a deafdisabled incarcerated elder recently shared with HEARD that they earn 25 cents an hour - the highest pay rate in their prison - for a job that pays $25/hour outside of prison.

Commissary funds help reduce the burden on incarcerated people and their loved ones who are faced with exploitative prices from prison commissary and telecommunication providers. These funds are an expression of our love and solidarity for our community!

We welcome contributions of any size. Every dollar raised will go directly to deaf/disabled incarcerated people. We hope that you will donate and/or share this fundraiser to folks in your communities.
