When a rescued dog finally reaches safety, their journey isn't always over. For many, the next battle is against heartworm disease, which is a serious and life-threatening illness that attacks the heart & lungs. Treatment is usually long, complex & expensive, but it offers something every rescue dog deserves: a second chance at a healthy, loving life.

We're raising funds to cover the diagnostics, medications, and treatment these dogs need to survive, heal, and eventually find loving homes. ❤️

Every dog must undergo bloodwork / X-rays to help determine the severity of the disease & ensure they can safely receive treatment. From there, costs include heartworm testing, medications, injections to eliminate the adult worms, pain management, & follow-up care.

No dog chooses to become heartworm positive, and many of the dogs who come into our rescue have gone without the preventive care that could have protected them. With your support, we can give them the lifesaving treatment they need & the opportunity to live long, happy lives with families of their own.

Wilder Souls Rescue started as an initiative to aid dogs that had run out of options. What began as just a few foster homes is now an organization dedicated to provide the care, support and opportunity these often-overlooked dogs deserve. At this point in time, we've saved about 450 dogs with the support of our amazing community and continue our efforts everyday.
