Who are we
We are veteran teachers who are responding to the moment by organizing. Amidst COVID19, educational inequities have become even more visible. So we decided to take action. We gathered a collective of Black educators to create and teach a culturally-responsive curriculum that aims to centralize Black stories, Black history, and Black identity. This education is free for students and will be a space of love and visibility.

What do we offer
Our courses are designed to facilitate the development of voice, community advocacy, and critical analysis of complex systems. Our course titles include (but are not limited to):

*Portrayals of Blackness in Film
*Building Generational Wealth in the Black Community: Financial literacy
*It’s Lit!
*OurStory
*Black Kids Code Too

Our mission:
We work to build a shared community of Black educators who are invested in providing students with a curriculum that is both challenging and empowering. Through critical thinking and a social justice lens, we will forever recognize, emphasize, and humanize Blackness.

Who can learn with us:
All high school-aged students from any ethnic and/or cultural background who believe in the importance and urgency of our mission.

Where are we headed:
During the shelter in place, we are offering a free Virtual High School program. As we continue to grow, we will be offering virtual summer school, free tutoring, AP and SAT exam prep, create pathways from our program to HBCUs, provide high school credits for students in alternative programs, scholarship aid, and much more.

What we need:
1. Virtual resources to add to our curriculum (i.e. ebooks, audiobooks, coding software)
2. Stipends for the teachers that are volunteering their time to not only teach classes but create culturally relevant curriculum
3. The ability to incentivize students to maintain at least an 80% attendance rate
