Fern Athletics Foundation was created to remove financial barriers in youth sports and ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow through athletics — not just as players, but as confident, disciplined, and resilient young people.

For the past year through Fern Athletics, we’ve worked closely with families and seen firsthand how the pay-to-play model continues to limit access to youth sports. Too many kids miss opportunities to play, learn, and grow simply because of cost.

That has to change.

Youth sports at ages 3–6 are about far more than learning how to kick a ball. At this stage, children are developing confidence, coordination, communication skills, and foundational habits that shape how they approach challenges for years to come.

Through structured play and guided coaching, young athletes begin to:

• Learn teamwork and how to work alongside others

• Build resilience when skills don’t come easily

• Develop discipline and focus

• Practice listening, encouragement, and respect

• Form friendships and a sense of belonging

• Experience the reward of effort and improvement

These lessons extend far beyond the field. They help shape confident, responsible young boys and girls who will grow into productive contributors to their communities.

Our primary goal is to raise $4,680 to fully cover the cost for the first 36 children in our Spring Minis soccer program.

Once those first 36 athletes are fully funded, we will continue working toward our second goal of expanding support to 72 children, pushing even further toward eliminating pay-to-play in our community.

Thanks to early supporters, we have already begun making progress toward that goal.

Not all contributions are reflected directly on this page. Some supporters have helped by purchasing foundation merchandise, with proceeds also going toward this campaign. So far, $40 raised through shirt sales is being added toward helping fund these athletes.

This winter, our community made a huge impact when every registered family received $106.93 back, nearly eliminating the cost of participation.

This spring, we are pushing even further.

Our goal is simple:

Make soccer completely free for the first 36 kids — and then keep going.
