Through A Hand Up Resources & Community Outreach’s Youth Responders: From Crisis to Career initiative, we equip young people with First Aid—including opioid overdose recognition and naloxone (Narcan) response—along with CPR and AED training.

But the training doesn’t stop with learning how to respond in an emergency. We help young people see how these lifesaving skills connect to career pathways in healthcare, public safety, caregiving, education, and community service.

For some young people, the cost of certification, equipment, transportation, or training can be a barrier. We want to remove those barriers.

Your donation helps provide:

• CPR, First Aid and AED training and certification
• Opioid overdose recognition and naloxone response education
• Training equipment and lifesaving supplies
• Instructor and program costs
• Free or reduced-cost opportunities for youth who otherwise may not have access
• Exposure to career and community-service pathways connected to their new skills

Our goal is to raise $5,000 to put more lifesaving skills into the hands of Kansas City-area youth while helping them recognize the possibilities those skills can create for their futures.

A young person may walk into a class thinking they are simply learning CPR. They can walk out knowing they have the ability to help save a life—and with a credential that may become the first step toward something bigger.
