This is Sharon, Imaan's wife, and this is one of the hardest things I've ever written.

Five years ago, Imaan co-founded The Omni Movement with a dream of building a partner dance school. He wanted to create a place where people could belong, grow, and find genuine community through dance.

And that's exactly what happened.

I watched people arrive knowing no one and leave with lifelong friendships. I watched beginners become beautiful dancers. I watched birthdays celebrated, relationships formed, and a community emerge that felt rare and meaningful.

I also watched my husband give more of himself than almost anyone knew.

For years, he poured countless unpaid hours into Omni while carrying much of its financial responsibility. He wasn't building it for profit. He was building it because he believed in it’s mission.

When Omni recently announced its closure, I was devastated. I thought Omni would last for decades and be something our children could even see.

What I didn't fully understand until then was that the debt accumulated by the organization ultimately sits in Imaan's name.

Many of the decisions that shaped Omni were made collectively and with the best of intentions in a desire to keep it accessible. But the legal responsibility for that debt now rests with our family. As new parents to baby Kairos, this has been an incredibly painful reality to face, and I felt it was important to share that truth.

We're not asking the community to cover everything. Imaan did take this risk. We're asking for help raising $25,000, which will allow us to negotiate settlements with creditors and work toward paying off the remainder ourselves.
