As the Local Program Partners, the Friends of the Wellman Public Library are responsible for securing funds to cover book costs Books are 100% free to enrolled children because their Local Program Partner has secured funds to cover the cost of the books and the shipping fees. The estimation of cost for our area is roughly $3,000 per year.

To help bring this fantastic program to as many local children as possible, we are asking for donations from local businesses and individuals.

The Friends of the Wellman Public Library is a non-profit organization of individuals, families, and businesses who are dedicated to supporting the library. We welcome book lovers, information seekers, readers, listeners, and thinkers of all ages, who treasure ideas and value the public library as a vital community resource. Financial support from the Friends enhances the library experience for children, teens, families and adults. The Friends generate revenue through membership fees, book sales, and other fundraising activities. These funds are used to supplement special programs, events, and celebrations not funded by the Library’s general operating budget.
