For adults with special needs, transportation is more than a ride- it is a pathway to independence, friendship, meaningful work, and belonging.

Homesteadability is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Jupiter, Florida, creating a vibrant and supportive community where differently-abled adults can learn, grow, contribute, and thrive. Our vision is to provide an exceptional forever home and a life filled with purpose-not simply a place to live.

Our journey began in 2022 with Farmsteadability, a hands -on food/cottage operation and farm-based skills program. In 2025 Farmsteadability became part of our larger vision called Homesteadability and continues as such today. Through gardening, cooking, food preparation, product packaging, art, self-care, household chores, community service, community outings, and social experiences, our participants strengthen practical skills while building confidence and greater independence.

But there is one major obstacle standing between our participants and many of these opportunities: reliable transportation.

We are raising 40,000 to purchase a used but safe, dependable, passenger van for Homesteadability.

This van will help our adults travel together to:

Community outings and educational experiences
Volunteer and charitable activities
Employment and vocational training opportunities
Special events and recreational trips
Special programs that encourage confidence, friendship, and independence.

Many adults with special needs depend on others for transportation. Without a dedicated van, even ordinary experiences-going to work, participating in the community, attending an event, or taking a trip with friends- can become difficult or even impossible.

A Homesteadability van will help remove that barrier.

It will be more than a vehicle. It will be a mobile classroom, a bridge to the community, and a source of freedom for the remarkable adults we serve. Every mile traveled will represent a new experience, a new skill, a new friendship, or another step towards independence.
