My name is Marisol, and I live in Eugene, Oregon with my husband Oscar and our three children. We’ve built our life here over the past 16 years. My kids attend schools in the Bethel School District, and I work for Springfield Public Schools.

On June 30th, our family’s life changed in an instant. My husband was unexpectedly detained and has since been held at a detention facility in Tacoma, Washington. Oscar is the heart of our family: a devoted, loving, hardworking father who never missed dinner with us, who played with our children every evening, and who worked hard every day to give us a better life.

Now, our children ask every day when their dad is coming home. While we wait for news and work through his legal case, we’re facing expenses we used to share together: rent, household bills, and now travel to Tacoma for court hearings (gas, lodging, meals), plus legal fees to fight for him to come home to us.

We’re asking for a little support as we hold our family together and fight to be reunited. Any help, no matter the size, makes a real difference for my children and me right now. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading our story and for any support you’re able to give.

Mi nombre es Marisol y vivo en Eugene, Oregon, junto a mi esposo Oscar y nuestros tres hijos. Hemos hecho nuestra vida aquí por más de 16 años. Mis hijos asisten a las escuelas del distrito Bethel, y yo trabajo para las Escuelas Públicas de Springfield.

El 30 de junio, nuestra familia cambió de un momento a otro. Mi esposo fue detenido inesperadamente, y desde entonces ha estado lejos de nosotros, en un centro de detención en Tacoma, Washington. Oscar es el corazón de nuestra familia: un padre dedicado, cariñoso y trabajador que nunca faltaba a la hora de la cena, que jugaba con nuestros hijos todas las tardes, y que se esforzaba cada día por darnos una vida mejor.

Hoy, nuestros hijos preguntan cada día cuándo va a regresar su papá. Y mientras esperamos noticias y trabajamos en su caso legal, enfrentamos gastos que antes compartíamos entre los dos: la renta, las cuentas de la casa, y ahora también los viajes a Tacoma para las audiencias de corte (gasolina, hospedaje, comida), además de los honorarios legales para poder luchar por que él regrese a casa con nosotros.
