This July, AMSG is traveling to the Peruvian Amazon to volunteer at Los Amigos Biological Station, one of the most important conservation research stations in the world. Before we go, we're raising funds to support the incredible work happening there, and to help more people learn why this place matters.

Run by the nonprofit Conservacion Amazonica (ACCA), Los Amigos sits inside a 360,000-acre protected conservation concession in the Madre de Dios region of southeastern Peru, one of the most biodiverse places on the planet. The Amazon rainforest is often called the lungs of the Earth, and Los Amigos is on the front lines of protecting it.

We leave this summer, but the work at Los Amigos never stops. Scientists, conservationists, and local communities depend on this station year-round to protect the forest, train the next generation of researchers, and monitor one of Earth's most vital ecosystems. $10 stocks the lab with sample preservation supplies or keeps two researchers' field notes dry with Rite in the Rain notebooks.
$20 powers four camera traps for a full season with rechargeable batteries.
$50 puts a 128GB SD card in the field or covers a researcher's night at Los Amigos station.
$100 keeps 300 meters of habitat corridor rope in place for monkeys and sloths, or stocks the team with flagging tape for a full expedition.
$150 adds a Browning camera trap to the monitoring network or keeps three researchers working after dark.
$300 puts a Zoom H6 microphone into the acoustic library program or protects sensitive electronics from the humidity with a dry cabinet.
$500 captures soundscapes no one has ever recorded with a Wildtronics Parabolic Microphone, or covers a Peruvian researcher's 10-night stay at the station.
$600 gets the canopy team 400 feet of climbing rope or sets up two satellite camps with three-person tents.
$750 equips a researcher with a Canon macro lens for insect documentation or sends a Los Amigos scientist to an international conference.
