Bernie Is on His Way to Safety. Help Us Give Him a Chance.

Nine-year-old Bernie was facing euthanasia at a shelter five hours south of Austin. Today, he is on his way to us—and we need your help with what comes next.

Our friends at Austin Bulldog Rescue were asked to take on an extreme medical case at that shelter when they also came across Bernie. Knowing New Hope Animal Rescue has stepped up for dogs like him before, they reached out to ask whether we could help, with their support.

They arranged transport and shared our donation link to help get Bernie’s rescue underway. This is what rescue is supposed to look like: working together to give another animal a chance.

We are so grateful for their help. But Austin Bulldog Rescue has its own extreme medical cases to fund, and now we need to take it from here.

New Hope is running on fumes financially, but we were Bernie’s only option. We said yes, and we are asking our community to help us get him the care he needs.

Bernie arrives around 2 PM today and has a veterinary appointment scheduled this afternoon. We don’t yet know the full extent of his medical needs. We will share what we learn and update our fundraising goal as his care plan becomes clearer.

Your donation will help cover Bernie’s veterinary evaluation and treatment. Please donate what you can and share his story. He has a rescue and a foster home waiting. Help us give him the care—and the chance—he deserves.
