When we launched our Help Us Say Yes campaign, we shared the reality of what rescue looks like right now. That reality has not gotten easier.

This year, Pug Rescue of Florida & Georgia is on track to spend approximately $400,000 on veterinary care for the dogs in our foster program.

That number represents hundreds of veterinary appointments, diagnostic tests, surgeries, medications, emergency visits, specialty care, heartworm treatment, dental procedures, follow up appointments, and everything in between.

You have met many of the dogs behind those expenses.

Dogs like Pookie, who came to us with advanced heartworm disease and required extensive, lifesaving treatment.
Dogs like Lilo, who needed major surgery for severe bladder stones.
Dogs like Tom and Jerry, whose complicated spinal conditions have required advanced imaging, specialists, and ongoing medical care.
Dogs like Lily Grace, who came to us after a dog attack and needed extensive treatment and surgery.

And they are only a few of the dogs who have needed us this year.

Some dogs come to PRFG needing routine veterinary care before they can begin their next chapter. Others arrive with years of untreated medical issues. More and more often, we are taking in dogs with complicated conditions that require neurologists, oncologists, surgeons, ophthalmologists, emergency hospitals, advanced imaging, and long term treatment.

But behind every vet bill is a dog who just needed someone to say YES.

Yes to the senior who needs extensive medical care before adoption.
Yes to the puppy born with a serious congenital condition.
Yes to the dog with cancer who deserves treatment and more good days.
Yes to the heartworm positive pug who needs months of care.
Yes to the injured dog who needs emergency surgery.
Yes to the dogs who may never become adoptable and will remain in our care for the rest of their lives.

We cannot always predict what a dog will need when we agree to take them. We simply know that when we say yes, we are making a commitment to provide the veterinary care that dog needs for as long as they need it.

And those commitments add up quickly.

Your donation to Help Us Say Yes helps cover veterinary care for dogs throughout our rescue. It gives us the ability to approve the diagnostic test, schedule the specialist, move forward with surgery, begin treatment, refill the medication, and take in the next pug who needs us.

Your donation does more than help pay a veterinary bill. It gives us the ability to say yes.

Yes to answers.
Yes to treatment.
Yes to another chance.
Yes to Pookie, Lilo, Jerry, Tom, Lily Grace, and every dog who comes after them.

We are still saying yes. With your help, we can keep doing it.
