Introducing the fifth annual Hope From Coast to Coast 2021 presented by the Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group! Hope From Coast to Coast is the Penn State Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group's (DMAIG) annual fundraising initiative to encourage individual alumni, chapters, and groups to raise funds to continue the fight against childhood cancer. We may not be students anymore, but we can still make a difference, For The Kids! The fundraiser will run until Saturday, February 20th, 2020 with all donations due by midnight. Whether you donate or fundraise, you will have the chance to participate in our 46-day fitness challenge starting on January 4th through February 19th, 2020.
Introducing the fifth annual Hope From Coast to Coast 2021 presented by the Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group (DMAIG)!
In 2016, Hope From Coast to Coast (HFC2C) was formed by DMAIG to provide an outlet for Penn State Alumni to fundraise for the Penn State Dance Marathon (THON). THON is the largest student run philanthropy that fundraises all year, culminating in a 46 hour Dance Marathon in February. Alumni would fundraise starting in November until THON Weekend. To celebrate their fundraising efforts, participants would run/walk as many miles as they could during the week leading up to THON weekend. Since it's inception, alumni have run/walked well over 3,000 miles and donated over $40,000 to THON through the HFC2C event.
New this year: The 46-day Fitness Challenge! This year, donors and participants have the opportunity to take the challenge and get active for 46 minutes for 46 days starting in January. This challenge will replace the week-long run/walk event. It is our hope that alumni will be able to experience the magic of dancing 46 hours in THON in a unique way through exercise. The challenge will start Monday, January 4th and run through Friday, February 19th. Your New Year's Resolution never looked so easy!
First 100 Fitness Challenge Participants will be receiving a welcome gift!
You can participate through a donation or by signing up to fundraise. You can fundraise as a team or as an individual. See our How-To Guide with instructions on the registration process. All participants will hear more about the Fitness Challenge in December 2020.
